This video is not harmless. "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama?" What the hell? This sounds like its straight out of NAZI propoganda. Our kids are being indoctrinated with this horse shit and my tax money is paying for it! If your not pissed then there is something wrong with you.
What is so wrong with taking a stand to help our fellow man, regardless of who the president is? Bush pushed service as well. Are we saying that if we take part in service because he inspired us that he is a Nazi, too?
I was watching Real Time w/Bill Maher last night and one of his guests was Bill Moyer. Moyer made a real good point about the healthcare debate and I think it can be applied to this video too: taking care of your fellow man is a moral issue. We all need to pitch in and take care of those around us. And like it or not, the Bible that the Republicans like to think was written by a Republican God calls us all to take care of those less fortunate than ourselves. So let's stop this stupid fighting back and forth and let's stand up and do the right thing. It will cost a lot of money, but doing the right thing is never easy and many times, it's never cheap.
Nothing about this is "nazi" and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that. Ever hear the president profess that Aryans are the master race? Have we gone on a binge of land grabs to expand our "living room?" Is there government enforced euthanasia? Not a bit. You lose the argument when you refer to it as Naziism. Now, shut up and get about the business of serving Obama, now!
Actually, we found very little about the video offensive. The reference to the one-finger salute didn't exactly hit us as a smart thing, nor did we think the "serve Obama" thing was short of scientologesque, but it didn't bother us. Thought all of you might be interested in at least watching the thing. It's not like teachers are encouraging the students to do drugs - instead, we think it sends a positive, though counter-Ayn Randish message. Enjoy the comments.

You needed Bill Moyer to tell you that taking care of your fellow man is a moral issue? Wow. What is stupid is to think that you have to take care of him by sending money to the federal government so they can build a huge bureaucracy and shovel back the leftovers to your fellow man. Do it yourself!
Why? None of you took any time in the past 8 years to help your fellow man. What about unemployment? What about welfare? WTF have the rethuglicans done to help anyone but themselves? How many so-called conservatives have robbed from the poor, lined their own pockets and contributed to the right? When they get caught with offshore accounts, they scream "socialism." Nobody wants capitalism in its extreme - this isn't going to end up like Victorian London with poor houses and orphans forced to work in coal mines. Give it a break, righty.
Why should we give it a break, lefty? The sorry fact is welfare should be abolished, as well as the criminal and imporverishing minimum wage.
Part of the liberal policy I saw in Los Angeles was ensuring the poor were poor, and grateful to the Democrat party for feeding them in their impoverished state.
What has happened is this class warfare nonsense, so Peter can steal from Paul, and Paul will vote Dem for the privilege of taking part in the pillaging.
