"Hey, grassroots organizers. Learn to pronounce our congressman's name the next time you want the paper to go to one of your unstaged rallies.
You might want to learn the rally location's name, too.
There was a gathering in Siloam Springs this week about health care. The people who went to it were earnest and came in good faith. The mockery that follows is not directed at them, but to some of their would-be help.
It's Boozman, where 'Booz' rhymes with rose. It's not BOOZEman. It's a natural mistake. We've been having a lot of fun around the office ourselves, talking about how Skotch is running against 'Boozeman.'
Also, it's Siloam Springs, where 'Si' rhymes with 'sigh' and 'loam' sounds like foam. Those are the only two syllables too. It's Sigh-LOAM, not cee-LO-am.
One more thing: When you call the local paper to make sure we're going to one of those grassroots events springing up from the green, green grass of home, have somebody from in-state do it. Those out of state area codes that flash up on our phones are amusing but undercut that homespun feeling you're going for."
Top notch work, Doug! As we've said before "grassroots my ass!"
Oh yes, one more from Mr. T - "Where are the tea parties on health costs?"
We dare you to give us an honest answer, baggers.
We'll wait, we have all day.
