Various sources reporting the millage went down tonight by about a thousand votes - with something like 11 thousand people voting.
What a shame. Love to hear what the opponents have to say, and what the district says about it. This marks at least the second or third time the voters have shot down extra money for the local schools.
Now 40/29 tweeting that it passed. What's the deal? Someone want to fill us in?
Is someone dislexic?
UPDATE - Ozarks Unbound and NWA Times reporting the millage failed, 40/29 says it passed, Morning News says early results favored passage.
UPDATE AGAIN - 40/29 corrects its tweet, says fail, so does everyone else now.

Is this victory for local baggers, or just complete economic fatigue? Or was the district out politicked once again?
Most likely, both. The protesters had been able to show that the new school was a waste amd fraud, and folks were also looking at the new taxes, the impending new taxes and wonderfing if the money could be better spent just putting up a simple school, with good equipment and well-paid teachers. Too much pork, too high a price for too fancy a school.
The largesse of the whole proposition, as well as the activism of folks who illuminated the smellier parts of it, sank this deal.
All I can say is, GOOD.
Both. There was a great article in the morning news over the weekend, with a lot of details about costs and other area schools. This Fayetteville attempted theft was way out of line.
