Those elected officials, those people in high places with responsibilities acting like spoiled teenagers and tweens.


We've got one molester behind bars, a member of the world business community. But, just to show you idiocy doesn't confine itself just to people like Mikey Fortino, here's something a little more local for your enjoyment. This time, the top cop in Cave Springs couldn't keep himself busy at work and had to do something stupid.

Chief, why didn't you just buy your own computer and use it at home? Good God, they're really cheap now, and you'd have had hours of fun and still kept your job...

CAVE SPRINGS -- Cave Springs Police Chief Brian Biscamp resigned Friday after pornographic videos and images were discovered on his work computer by a technician hired by the city.



Biscamp, 38, was initially suspended by Mayor Mark Reeves on Friday in a letter of reprimand. Later that afternoon, Biscamp took full responsibility for the content stored on the work computer and resigned.



"I am responsible for that computer. I am responsible for what happens in that department," Biscamp said. "You have to hold somebody accountable for what's going on."



Biscamp, who denied visiting pornographic Web sites and downloading pornographic videos and images, said his computer was accessible by everyone employed with the police department.



"I never downloaded anything. I never searched for anything," Biscamp said.



The department employs three full-time officers, including Biscamp. Five officers serve part time, Reeves said.

Of course not, Mr. Biscamp...you would never dream of anything like that. For some reason, we're hearing an echo of those famous words, "I'm not gay, I've never been gay" (Larry Craig) -- and you people wonder why journalists are such a skeptical lot!

Hey, even a cop should appreciate our reluctance to take him at his word...we just wonder if Mr. Biscamp would have accepted that denial from someone in HIS custody. We think not.
